LASA PTSA Earns the Head Start Membership Award!

It’s official, LASA has an Award Winning PTSA this year! The LASA PTSA has earned the prestigious Head Start Award. Thanks to your incredible energy and dedication, LASA PTSA kicked off the year with a bang, reaching 75% or more of last year’s total membership right out of the gate. Thanks to everyone who’s joined already.

We are still working toward the September Early Bird Achievement membership award. Early birds get the award by submitting at least 100% of last year’s membership total. We’re well on our way, but we still need about 65 more members to join (as of Sept 15). All are welcome…Moms, Dads, Guardians, Grandparents, Teachers, Students, your best friend’s cousin…we would love for everyone to join PTSA.

We also need about 35 faculty memberships to reach 100% participation so please consider donating a membership for our excellent team of educators.

LASA PTSA is working to earn the Texas PTA Early Bird Achievement Award. Early birds get the award by submitting at least 100% of last year’s membership total. As of August 31st, we need 152 more members to earn this award. Parents, Students, Teachers, Grandparents, Neighbors, Uncles, Aunts…all are invited to join us!

Last year was amazing! We…

  • Had record membership numbers for our PTSA
  • Earned so many awards due to your membership! (You can see them all on our website)
  • Hosted numerous Advocacy Workshops for our students
  • Visited the Texas Capitol to advocate for Public Education during Rally Day and provided lunches to the students and faculty in attendance
  • Advocated for the local neighborhood for parking issues
  • Provided a light grab and go continental breakfast for the Classes of 2027 and 2028 during the first day of finals
  • Provided donuts to the faculty and staff during the first day of finals

Our Students Are the Best!

Thanks to our student members, LASA PTSA has earned the Special Category Student Membership Award from the Texas PTA. To earn this award, LASA PTSA needed to have at least 50 students become members. Way to go LASA Students!

Here’s the most updated student class counts:

Class of 2028: 61
Class of 2027: 54
Class of 2026: 42
Class of 2025: 34

Looking for an entry level committee to join to support our school? How about the Hospitality Committee? PFLASA pays for and organizes 4 meal events during the year to feed and give thanks to our hardworking teachers, staff, and administration. Our current hospitality chair is graduating, and we need 4-6 people who want to take these events on. With a committee that size, one person could be in charge or every event could be hosted by a different member—it will be up to the committee. Want to learn more? Email us at president@pflasa.org!

Class of 2028 Leads in Membership….but for How Long?

The Class of 2028 is still holding the lead for most PTSA Student memberships, but The Class of 2027 is closing in. It’s a tight race! We are still accepting memberships for all students, parents, friends, and faculty!

Membership counts as of January 5th:

Class of 2028 – 56 Members
Class of 2027 – 49 Members
Class of 2026 – 38 Members
Class of 2025 – 32 Members

We still have about 40 faculty members who need memberships. If you would like to donate one, add an Adult Faculty membership into your cart and put Donation in the name and email fields.
