Senior Salute is a special LASA tradition for graduating LASA seniors. Every year, PFLASA hosts Senior Salute the night before the official joint LBJ/LASA graduation. Seniors receive their magnet endorsements from the administration, senior students perform a skit about life at LASA, the faculty give book awards and typically make a video for the students, and the seniors are given a memory book that contains each senior’s picture, quote and future plans.
Graduation will be June 2nd at 9 AM at Nelson Field with students socially distanced on the field itself. Parents will be seated at an appropriate distance from each other in the stands.
Later the same evening of June 2nd, the festivities will continue with Senior Salute from 6PM – 7:30 PM followed by Project Graduation 8PM – 11 PM. Both will be at the Springdale Station. The events will take place back-to-back in their large and beautiful outdoor courtyard under an open air tent (in the event of inclement weather). Again masks are required and seating will be socially distanced. There will be an individually boxed catered meal served between the two events.
For those who don’t know, Senior Salute is long-held LASA tradition. It is an awards ceremony with a tasteful and fun-loving “roast’ type format for seniors and staff. Normally parents are invited, but this year the event space is not large enough to safely include parents. However, the event will be live-streamed for all parents who wish to watch.
