Let’s face it, the reality is that parents are imperfect humans dealing with our own issues while also navigating our parental responsibilities. We are given the message to put our oxygen mask on first, while constantly fielding both internal and external expectations to sacrifice for our children.
Raising Healthy Raptors is proud to host Valerie Milburn, co-host of the award winning podcast Mental Health: Hope and Recovery and former LBJ teacher, to share her personal journey though imperfect parenting. Please join us for this virtual presentation followed by a Q&A/discussion session by sending an RSVP to wellness@pflasa.com for the link and/or be on lookout in Sunday’s Principal’s message and on the PFLASA FB page.
Please join us for our next PFLASA meeting, we’d love to see you!
We’ll share what’s going on with PFLASA, lots of volunteer opportunities (including stuffing envelopes right after our meeting!) committee updates and as always, coffee and tea.
We look forward to seeing you this Friday.

Save the Date! The next virtual PTSA meeting will be on Tuesday, February 24th at 7pm. More information coming soon!

That’s right, we love our student members! Every year, LASA PTSA runs a contest to see which class will have the highest student membership. The race is on! Here’s the student membership count as of January 31st:
It’s a close race! Spread the word and have your classmates join PTSA. Every membership counts. While you’re at it, have your parents join too!

In her 15 years as a college counselor at LASA, Jamie Kocian learned almost everything there is to know about the college admissions process for high-achieving students. In her 24+ years in the college admissions/college counseling field, she now has decided opinions on leveling up (in a genuine way) nearly every piece of the application puzzle and helping students discover more about themselves in the process.
Jamie will touch on all manner of topics, including the college list, standardized testing, essays, recommendation letters, interviews, and scholarships. Join us for some stories (some interesting, some just stories), a little chat on “Where did all the hobbies go?”, and reflections on lessons learned, feeling confident, and cutting through all the noise.
