Start of PFLASA Study Groups for 2026-2027 Academic Year

  • Who: Current Parents and Students of LASA High School
  • What: PFLASA Study Groups
  • When & Where: We are slated to start on Wednesday, September 9th. Our tutor will be available to work in small groups or individually with students from 4:15 pm to 6:15 pm on Wednesdays in the classroom located adjacent to the library.

The general schedule for subjects offered is below:

  • Chemistry: Wednesdays, from 4:15 pm – 6:15 pm
  • Biology: Wednesdays, from 4:15 pm – 6:15 pm

Please note:
Study Groups is unable to offer Physics tutoring at this time. Students who seek additional support in Physics may attend Mr. Croston’s office hours on all mornings before school starts starting at 7:00 am and during the lunch break on all days except some Fridays.

PFLASA Study Groups serves our LASA community by providing students with additional support in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. Please encourage your student to take advantage of this valuable resource.

Spring Finals Tutoring will be available for Chemistry, Physics, and Biology on the following days:

Thursday, May 21st from 4:15-6:15pm
Friday, May 22nd from 12:30-3:30pm
Tuesday, May 26th from 12:30-3:30pm
Wednesday, May 27th from 12:30-3:30pm

LASA PTSA Scholarship Application

LASA PTSA is offering a $1,000 scholarship this year. Application and rubric can be found here:

The PFLASA Study Groups Committee continues to work diligently to ensure that this resource is useful and available to all students. We have hired two additional tutors to help out during finals week and next semester.

Support in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology will be available on of the days shown below:

  • Monday, December 15th 4:15 pm – 6:15 pm
  • Tuesday, December 16th 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm
  • Wednesday, December 17th 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm
  • Thursday, December 18th 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm

2025 Fall festival

Join LASA for our 2nd annual Fall Festival on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 11a-3p! All proceeds help benefit various LASA programs.

Join us for a day of games, food, music, and prizes! There will also be LASA Recruitment and admission information for all prospective families.

Tickets are $1 each. Game prices may range from 1-5 tickets/per play, and food from 1-25 tickets. Tickets are sold in packs of 10, 25, and 50. NO CASH will be accepted.

Supporting Our LASA Families During the Shutdown

Dear PFLASA Community

As many of you know, the ongoing government shutdown has placed unexpected strain on many in our community, including some of our very own LASA families.

To this end, I wanted to make sure you knew that you could donate gift cards directly to our Wellness Counselors to quietly share with families experiencing food insecurity at this time.
Gift cards to stores like H-E-B or Walmart in smaller denominations would be great (think $20 and $25 – this would allow the counselors to have more flexibility when distributing them).

There is absolutely no obligation to participate — this is simply an opportunity for those who feel called to lend a hand.

Gift cards can be dropped off at the front office, c/o Wellness Counselors.

Our goal is to distribute them discreetly and respectfully to families who could use a little extra support right now.

Thank you for your generosity, compassion, and care for our community.

The general schedule for subjects offered is below:

  • Chemistry: T, W, Th from 4:15 pm – 6:15 pm
  • Physics: T, W, Th from 4:15 pm – 6:15 pm
  • Biology: T, W. Th from 4:15 pm – 6:15 pm

Where: LASA Library; look for the signage as you enter through the library.

Why: These started a number of years ago to give students another place to ask questions and receive support in specific subjects. Think of it as small group private tutoring—free to the student! We have seen this service help students make great academic strides when they attend regularly.

2025 Spring Finals Study Groups General Schedule

Students are encouraged to take advantage of the support that Study Groups offers from now until 5/28/25, which is the last day that it will be available.

Spring Finals Tutoring will be available for Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.

The last day of normal tutoring hours is on Thursday, May 22nd, from 4:15 pm – 6:15 pm.

Tutoring hours during finals week are listed below:

Friday, May 23rd from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Tuesday, May 27th from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Wednesday, May 28th from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Back again for Week 2: AP SNACK DONATION REQUEST

Thank you so much for your support! We have a little more to go to finish the upcoming second week of testing. We are so thankful for this community and its support!

TWO WAYS TO DONATE:

  1. AMAZON: Snacks are a click away! Select any variety of the dry-good items suggested (or whatever tickles your fancy) and have them delivered to LASA.

    • Please arrange for a weekday delivery.
  2. SHOP LOCAL/DELIVER TO LASA: Add some extra items to your weekly grocery list and drop them in the LASA Office. There will be a cooler in the office for perishable items.

Items for Week 1: Bring to the main office on Friday, May 2 or by 7:15am Monday, May 5.

Items for Week 2: should be brought to the main office on Friday, May 9 or by 7:15am Monday, May 12.
