Come learn about the candidates running for the AISD Board of Trustees! Over half of the board seats are up for election, and this is an amazing opportunity to meet the candidates, hear directly from them, and ask them questions. Our district is facing ongoing challenges, and the candidates chosen will have the power to make consequential decisions that affect our school. What an incredible way to close out our 2026 No Hassle Fundraiser! Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our LASA families, friends, and community, we reached our goal and raised more than $220,000 for LASA students and staff!

‘The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds’ by Paul Zindel follows a struggling single mother and her two very different teenage daughters as they navigate poverty, neglect, family conflict, and the pressures of adolescence.

‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’ by Mark Haddon, adapted for the stage by Simon Stephens, follows Christopher Boone, a 15-year-old boy who sets out to investigate the mysterious death of his neighbor’s dog.

NOTE: Subject matter and language may not be appropriate for younger audiences.

LASA PTSA Student Membership Update

Every year, the LASA PTSA does a friendly contest to see which class has the most members. At the end of the year, we provide a grab and go breakfast on the first day of finals. Here’s the count as of September 19th:

Class of 2030 – 45 members
Class of 2028 – 45 members
Class of 2027 – 44 members
Class of 2029 – 39 members

The race is close! If your student isn’t a member yet, have them join! The PTA is the oldest and largest volunteer child advocacy association in the United States and we have great programs for our students.

We also need about 16 more memberships for our LASA faculty. Any donation to help would be appreciated.

Hello, LASA parents and caregivers! Come join PFLASA on Friday, September 25th, 8:15am – 9:15am in the Parent Portable building (next to the tennis courts). We’ll have an update and wrap-up from the No Hassle Fundraiser committee for the “Bridge the Gap” campaign, as well as updates on upcoming events and volunteer opportunities. Come early (7:45-8:15am) for socializing and a variety of hot and cold beverages!

Time: 8:15am – 9:15am (7:45am for coffee/drinks and socializing)
Location: Parent Portable building (next to the tennis courts)
