Sofia Syed, Gabriel Syed and Meghan Riley, Instructors
Senior Sofia and 9th grader Gabriel Syed have been Irish Dancing for years. Both are champion level dancers whom you may have seen at the Austin Celtic Festival. Before the pandemic the two siblings would travel to “feisannas” all over the country to compete on behalf of Inishfree School of Irish Dance.
Meghan Riley does not dance but collects family recipes and can hold her own in the kitchen to fuel her Irish dancers.
Description:
We will share our family recipes for Irish Soda Bread and Scones and afterwards you can burn calories when Sofia and Gabriel teach a couple of traditional Irish step dances that kids in Ireland learn at an early age. If time, Sofia and Gabriel will showcase a dance performed as part of Riverdance. We will sprinkle in some history and Irish culture.
