LASA Art Teacher, Elizabeth Hewitt, Instructor
Partake in the age old pumpkin carving tradition with me! We will focus on the relative transparency of the pumpkin as we carve and incise into it to create a complex image with value.
You will also need to have:
- a serrated knife (small/medium),
- table spoons,
- sharp paring knife or pocket knife.
Before we meet please obtain a pumpkin, cut off a lid/opening and remove its guts (seeds/membranes, not flesh) by scraping the insides out with a large spoon. I recommend spreading some newspaper/grocery bags under your work space. I usually save my seeds to toast and add to granola.
Minimum 5 people for the class to make.
