Corey Snyder, Instructor
You know your chords and scales and can play some songs. So now what? How do those guitarists you love make their guitars get “that sound”?
It’s all in the right hand. Many guitar players focus on chords and fingering, notes and scales, while neglecting the nuances of the picking hand. Here’s a secret – that’s where “that sound” comes from.
The left hand determines which notes come out of the guitar – the right hand determines what they sound like when they do.
A few simple motions with the right hand can unlock whole genres for your guitar playing – ragtime, blues, country, folk.
I’ll teach you some of the right hand flat-picking techniques that can make your guitar sound like Maybelle Carter, Muddy Waters, Johnny Cash, Eddie Cochran, T Rex, John Lee Hooker, Willie Nelson, the Ramones and more. Much of it is simpler than you might think…
Styles taught by request as well.
Have your guitar tuned and ready to play.
